Quilts

I have been working on Dragons' Lair.....................

but I am still fighting that #@$&## metallic thread.  Why, oh, why did I think I wanted to use metallic thread on this?  I know why.  Because it would be beautiful, rich, elegant, and difficult to do.  Why can't I just make a simple quilt?  They are beautiful too.  But I always want to go beyond the ordinary.  I want to create something unique and beautiful.  When I pieced these log cabin blocks, I had in mind to make a simple barn raising log cabin quilt.  But I changed my mind.  So here I am.........................stop complaining, Marilyn!!
Here is my progress.....................if you can call it that.

Oh, did I tell you that I plan to put  perhaps 18 dragons of increasing sizes throught the quilt?

  1. Wow - yet another masterpiece... keep up the good work as it will be worth it in the end... looks to be another winner for sure and what better reason to stay inside on these cold winter days? Jill

  2. It is beautiful, but I don't know if I would have the patience to do that. Hope you find something that works well with the metallic thread so it quits fraying/breaking. Stay warm and keep us updated on your progress with this.

  3. do you use silicone oil on your metallic and specialty threads? I have found it really helps with tension and breakage.
