The Marilyn Smith Award for Excellence in Quiltmaking

This beautiful applique quilt was made by Karen L. Guthrie of Marshall, MO.  It is entitled "All Creatures Great and Small" and the designs are from the book, Take Away Applique  by Suzanne Marshall, American Quilter's Society, 1998.  It is beautifully appliqued and embellished with embroidery.  Motifs are flowers, fruits, vines, and animals (fox, birds, deer, etc.)

As you can see, this is another beautiful quilt that did not win a prize at the 2010 AQS Show at Paducah .
