Deanna Hodson

Yesterday my quilt guild hosted Deanna Hodson of Olathe, KS.  She is a delightful, talented lady, bringing about 30 pieced and appliqued quilts and pillows in beautiful pastel colors.  Deanna has been collecting vintage tablecloths, dresser scarves, tea towels, handkerchiefs, and doilies for years and she has incorporated them into her quilts.  She designs her quilts on EQ and her workmanship is meticulous.  She sells her patterns on her websight,  http://www.rosecottagequilts.com/.  She has an applique quilt(In the Garden) in the AQS Show at DesMoines, which will open this week.  Another quilt made from one of her patterns has also been accepted into this show.  Here are a few of her quilts:

This lovely quilt is made of vintage handerkerchiefs and vintage tea towels.

The vintage tea towels are "days of the week"......Sunday and Monday are pictured here.

This quilt is pieced baskets with hand applique in the center medallion.

This quilt is embroidered redwork.

This quilt features a filet crochet doily.  Deanna also uses her sewing machine to add Bible verses to her quilts.

This quilt top features broderie perse flowers.

Vintage embroidered quilt blocks are featured on this quilt.  Note the edge finish on the corners of this quilt.

The butterfly on this pillow is made from a folded vintage hanky.

Deanna is available for trunk shows and workshops. You may contact her at her websight.
